Famous Ducati Scrambler 450 from 1971.

The Ducati Sardinian brothers,  started with radio transmission components before war. In 1946, the brothers relaunched their industrial and mechanical activity with an auxiliary motor “il cucciolo”. In 1949 the founders unfortunately left the ship due to major financial problems. The brand has been writing since its history, imposing its technical evolutions including the desmodromic system created by the brilliant engineer Taglioni or its 90°V cylinders or L. In particular, the brand will experience many victories in competition for many years to come.

In the late 1960s, motorcyclists devised a new way of expressing their freedom. Cult films like “The Wild One” with Marlon Brando or “Easy Rider” with Robert Fonda and Dennis Hopper have influenced the new rebel generations with revolutionary feelings, such as those expressed by the new hippie culture. In response to the request from Ducati’s powerful US importer, who urged Borgo Panigale to order , the first Ducati Scrambler was designed and built according to these precise indications at the time, a range of single-cylinder using three types of engines: 250, 350 and 450 cc. The look with the drop tank was destined to enter the history of design, this spirit of freedom was born, the asphalt road was no longer enough, and in addition to the United States, the Ducati Scrambler was an exceptional success, even in Europe thanks to its non-conformist design.
