Porsche 356 Pre-A 1953 FIA Racing

Magnificent 356 Pre-A 53 VHC version, certified to FIA standards, eligible Le Mans Classic, Tour de France Auto, 1000 Miglia…

Our chassis 51963 was delivered new in France by the company Sonauto at that time located at 83, rue de la Boétie in Paris, as attested by the Kardex from the factory. The rare coupé was entirely restored and optimized in 2009 and 2010 in our workshop in Reims for its entry in the 2011 Tour Auto. Its long and expensive restoration is entirely documented in a dossier of more than 400 photos. This complete restoration was ordered by a very nice gentleman driver passionate and epicurean who sadly passed away since. This high-performance car, as you will understand, has not been driven a lot since.

The 1500 engine and the specific gearbox were made by the excellent Andy Prill from Maxted Page whose reputation needs no introduction. These invoices are available in the dossier. Built for competition, the engine has a forged crankshaft and Carrillo rods. The car is equipped at the front with Carrera GT brake drums of 60 mm in aluminium, its doors and hood also are in original Porsche aluminium from the period. Its racing look silver mat paint is a gorgeous evocation of motorsport of the 50s, like the Porsche 356 that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the BMW 328 Mille Miglia and other Mercedes W196 Silver Arrow.

Elegant and racy, our 356 Pre-A is a real entry ticket for the most beautiful historic competitions in the world. Its featherweight offsets its small engine and make it very efficient, fast and nimble with an excellent index of performance as a bonus. French title, appraisal value, Porsche certificate, entry in the 2018 Tour Auto possible.
