Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA 1965, full restoration, full file, full history

This glorious Alfa Romeo GTA left the Arese factory on September 8, 1965 and was delivered to Sofar, the French importer. The first owner was none other than Dominique Thiry, the Alsatian driver who entered the car in numerous rallies over a period of just over 2 years (888 MC 67)

The second owner was a well-known rally-racing friend from Reims who sent the car to Autodelta and made a few homologated modifications. He took part in a few events and kept the car for almost a year (4 ND 51), the third enthusiast and driver continued to add to his list of achievements, keeping the car until 2013 (190 GJ 39), and finally the last lucky one undertook a long and costly eight-year restoration by recognized specialists, and in particular for the noble mechanics of this GTA my spiritual father Toni Rotondi, who for years enabled me to race in the finest historic events at the wheel of Milanese cars prepared by him.

The bodywork will be completely stripped and laid on marble, all done without savings and in an impeccable manner with perfect alignments and paintwork. All the mechanical work will be done by the Italian wizard from Villejuif and his 50 years of experience with Alfa Romeo double-shaft competition engines and over 165 horsepower.

The car is fitted with rare Autodelta period parts such as the axle guide (not currently fitted), air conveyor, self-locking axle and a prepared cylinder head. An impressive dossier has been compiled, including copies of successive title deeds, an Alfa Romeo certificate, Stéphane Bonoron’s approved appraisal, period photos and a full list of achievements, eligible for all historic events such as the Tour auto, historic Monte-Carlo, Tour de Corse…

The beauty will be delivered with less than 3000 kilometers since its total restoration, 4 additional original Campagnolo Magnesium rims, a clean MOT and French registration. Price on request
