Mythic Porsche 2.7 Rs Touring M 472 1973 restored in 1990 . 

 

One of the most desirable Porsche ever produced, the 911 Carrera Renn Sport was built to enable the brand to continue its success in motor sport after the retirement of the 917, the factory objective was to participate in a full season in the new Gr5 of the European Grand Touring Championship with a model based on a 911.

 

The model was equipped with a new 210 horsepower flat- six of 2687 cm3 air-cooled with Bosch mechanical injection and five-speed , front suspension independent with Macpherson struts, torsion and anti-roll bars, rear suspension independent with transverse torsion bars, tubular shock absorber .

The factory built only 1560 units of RS ‘s 1360 in Touring version and 200 in Lightweight during 1972 and 1973.

N° 911 360 1126 was delivered new to the German dealer Hahn in Stuttgart in white grand prix  with optional

Recaro sport seats and a limited slip , is production secret number is 103 7006 this one was verified by me, even for my part I sold 81 original examples of  2.7 Rs  in twenty-five years of activity.

 

In 2003 during a major inspection by the French specialist Baumet in Avignon, the original engine case N° 6631095 was replaced  for a new in standard exchange, the old  case and  corresponding invoice came with the car.

The restoration dating from 1990 a refreshment bodywork will be necessary  to reach  the actual level  of the current collection market.
